self observation

Waves of thoughts

About the many paths

Ebb and flow

On the shores of my awareness.

The sands of time shift

Through my mental grip

But remain the same.

The sun shines on it all,

Unaffected.

When some thoughts come

They clog up

Awareness of the

Present moment

And put you to sleep.

Before they return,

Clean out

Your thought pipe

Watch this moment flow

And stay awake.

Moving through the unending forest

Where thoughts grow

I must watch where I step

Or trip and fall

Over the hidden roots

Of thoughts planted

Long before I became aware of the forest.

Yes.

There are other ways to travel.

I could follow the trail of stillness

Until I take flight

To rise above it all.

The roots won’t get me,

But I must now watch out for branches.

While my mind explores and magnifies doubts,

I rest in the knowledge of the perfection of all things, including my mind.

What is your mind doing now?

The way to find out is to sneak up on it from behind.

Actually, that might not work. Your best bet is to invite your Self to help.

Your Self is a master observer.

Leave everything to the Self.
